Yahoo!News : "What causes Sex Addiction?"

Morning everyone!

Ever since i started this blog, which was only a week ago (hehe), I've always been thinking about the articles i'm going to make or post. I want it to be something of great importance or interest to the "readers". I can't help asking myself how am i going to sustain a blog?. Am i really capable of having one? This morning, something came up, and dyaraan! another article! Come, follow me ;)

As an internet "enthusiast" (haha), it is a habit of mine to open my laptop every time i wake up in the morning. Usually, Yahoo!news page is the first site to pop up my screen. It is in this sight where i seem to get updated with the latest current and showbiz news. This morning, i just wanna share the article i've read on Yahoo!news. Timer starts now!

Sex addiction laid bare

Cosmopolitan – Tue, Jan 3, 2012 8:55 PM PHT

Sex addiction has more exposure today than ever, with household celebrities such as Russell Brand speaking openly about the condition; but what causes sex addiction and what does the problem entail? Dr Abigael San, a clinical psychologist at The Priory Hospital, says, “Sex addiction, like other addiction problems, is a way of escaping when things get difficult. It’s a coping strategy and it can be very preoccupying. Sex addicts might find themselves spending lots of time sourcing pornography, looking at it and trying to get hold of it.”

Most people think that a sex addiction must stem from a sex-related issue, but usually it comes from the nature of addiction itself and is more about the feeling of helplessness. Dr. San explains, “Sex addiction runs a lot deeper than just sex. Of course, factors like a high sex drive are going to be relevant but they’re rarely the cause of sex addiction.” Although it’s an easy stereotype to place, sex addiction is usually more common in men than women, but that could be for a number of reasons, ranging from the fact we might expect men to carry the addiction, to the possibility that it’s more acceptable for a man to have it. With the Internet being readily available, sex addiction has more accessibility, so anyone who might have a tendency to be a sex addict would be able to go down that path.

Dr. San believes that with the right course of action, people can beat sex addiction, “Sex addiction should be treated in the same way as any other addiction problem, which means looking at the reasons behind the addiction and building up other areas of the addict’s life, such as going to therapy meetings, where they’ll meet new people and have less opportunity for encouraging their addiction.” The best way to deal with sex addiction, or even worries about sex addiction, is to have an assessment by a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, and then take relevant addiction treatment from there. You can find links to help you find a chartered psychologist online at www.bps.org.uk

To read the confessions of a male sex addict, buy the February issue of Cosmopolitan, out now...END :)

We'll, this is somehow a promotion of a cosmopolitan magazine(hehehe). One might get a copy, i bet. :)

Reflection, reflection on the article, anyone? Okey, I believe that people with nothing much to do can most likely be "Sex Addict". Those that are not preoccupied with things that are more important. Those people that are of NO FAITH IN GOD.

Goal and God - oriented human beings have things in mind other than sex. One must focus on relevant things during their spare time, off from offices and school breaks. Join an organization, a religious organization most especially. Participate and be active in all their activities. Those things that keep you busy and productive can keep you away from thinking and doing sex that would lead to sex addiction.

Let us bare in mind the deeper meaning of sex, the more precious meaning of it. It is made basically for the process of PROCREATION. Let us be responsible enough with the wonderful purpose of the word "sex" that God has shared with us.

Thanks be to God, and super thanks to Yahoo!news for this article.

Adios!

Why change "WOW PHILIPPINES?!"

"WOW PHILIPPINES" is the best slogan ever, why change it? I can't believe people can sometimes be stupid just to "show off". Does it really mean that we will change our country's slogan every time there is a new administration? Can't we just be humble enough to appreciate the ideas of the old administration especially if it proves to be working?

"WOW PHILLIPPINES" is a very striking slogan which can be understood by all languages all over the world. Such an expression that expresses all positive feelings and appreciation. Best fit for the tourism of our country despite the "natural" calamities (Flash floods, Land slides, Typhoons etc.) and "human" calamities (Infrastractures of no quality and beauty, unbearable poverty and worst corruption).

Coming up with new slogans that are not understood by other countries or has long been used by other countries are definitely not a BIG BANG. For the people behind these "slogan making", please, i am appealing to all of you. Let us bring back "WOW PHILIPPINES".

A big round of applause to "WOW PHILIPPINES!!!"

EVEN IF

Even if I am in deep agony right now because of my unstable job…

Even if there is still no clear notice as to when are we going to know our exact status in our office now that it is under "recession”…

Even if I am staying away from home, my family and close friends because of my work…

Even if I am now spending more thus earning less

Even if others feel I am in a "not - so - good" working state..

I am still unaffected and still know how to handle the situation well.

I still manage to go through a daily life of fun and laughter.

A well - balanced life.

It is because of You dearest LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.

Your PURE LOVE and GUIDANCE is endless and sufficient of my life’s full existence.

FIRST CRITIC

This is my very first blog and most probably the last, and of course as expected I’m gonna have my first critic. Much to my surprise, I do have my first critic. Let me call him by the name of “ Erickson Niego”.

If I may just share, the one thing I felt the moment I made this blog of mine was “shame”. You know why? Because I don’t have much confidence as to what kind of articles would I invent, so to speak. Not to mention the very thing that will be criticized in these kinds of endeavors, the “grammar” thing. I am ashamed of my critics most especially this very first.

I have no intentions of sharing this blog to others. Sounds great huh?!Making a blog and not planning of sharing it? Such in a perfect state of mind. How envious can you get? Seriously, this very first critic of mine is scary. It scared me big time that compelled me to create this article. Immediately after I heard his comments, which were very deep and fierce, I cried. Nothing more to say, nothing more to say. (still tears falling) 

Echos la! :)

CREATING A BLOG

Influenced by a friend named Vic Abrugar, I somehow got interested in having my own blog. With all the sharing and convincing power of this brilliant blogger Vic, I got curious and finally created a blog.

I am an internet enthusiast(feeling). Mainly because of our easy access on the internet. We have an internet connection at home and in the office. I have all the means to surf the net, anytime, all the time. In fact, I am a facebook game addict, particularly “castleville”(proud?!). My friend Vic happened to notice this “addiction” and told me to divert it into blogging instead. I thought to myself, why not?(coconut)

Just early this morning, around 2 am, before calling it a day, I urgently made one. This one. I am an impulsive person, so the moment I embrace the idea of having to do a thing or two, I would do it right away. I have to or else I might lose interest of it. I have to strike while the iron is hot, as the saying goes.

I was never a “technology” person, no enough knowledge to be able to sustain a blog as stylish, informative, interesting and organized like Vic’s blogs (e.g. BusinessTips.ph) and one of the reasons why I was really hesitant to have a blog. But he is right, there is nothing to lose. It is worth a try.

To whoever that might come across this blog, please bear with me and Goodluck! This is just an experiment. Have a great day! Godbless! :)

P. S. I have numerous mentions of my friend Vic in this short article, guess must have titled this “ My friend Vic’s Influence”, wehehe PEACE!
